The Department of Commerce got started in ADP College in August 2017 with a batch of 106 students and two faculty members. Since then, it has been offering quality teaching to the students in Commerce with honours in Accountancy and Management. From the very initiation of the department, it is constantly focusing in not only teaching the framed curriculum but also towards a holistic development of the students. In 2018, the strength of the department enhanced with the introduction of the new batch of 116 students which reveals significant progress for an infant department. From 2019, as the syllabus changed to CBCS, honours in Finance has also been introduced. Later, with the implementation of NEP 2020, the department has introduced major courses in Accountancy, Management, Finance and Marketing. The current student strength of the department stands at 350. The department is being run efficiently by the regular faculty with the aid of contractual teachers as and when needed. Utmost concern is paid to the on-time completion of syllabus, assessments, students mentoring, mock test, remedial classes etc. There is also a well-managed Department library with around 220 books in both English and Assamese.
