The Women Study centre was established with the financial support of UGC and under the chairmanship of former principal, Dr S.U.Ahmed in ADP College on January, 2009. Since its inception the centre has ben organizing different programs such as lecture programme, extension programmes, awareness programmes, workshops etc. Moreover, the centre has also published books and conducted research projects. Various lecture programmes like 33% Reservation for Women, Women Empowerment and Gender Justice, Women Studies: as an academic discipline; issues and challenges and extension programmes like literacy rate, socio-economic and health and hygiene condition of the people of the villages, Health awareness programmes, Career Counseling programme etc. are conducted by the Centre. The Women Study Centre has so far published three valuable books and completed a number of research projects.
